Wine Shop Palermo
The choice is not easy, so well dive into some specifics to offer useful suggestions if you find yourself in the area.
ENOTECA PICONE: The first stop for a perfect wine tour in Palermo is this historic wine shop par excellence. Located on Via Guglielmo Marconi, it is open from Monday to Saturday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The owner, Franco Picone, started his career as a wine merchant in the post-war period, driven by a great curiosity and passion for wine, which allowed him to discover many realities beyond Sicily. Today, at 91 years old, he is joined by his son Nicola, who has enriched the business with three thousand labels from around the world.
PREMIATA ENOTECA BUTTICE: Situated in Piazza San Francesco di Paola, it is open from Monday to Saturday from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Peppe is the trusted host, always demonstrating his passion for wine and good food, alongside his dedicated team. The business was established in 2011, taking over a former delicatessen. Today, it offers labels from all over the world, perfectly paired with typical Palermo cuisine and some innovative twists.
ENOTECA LA NICCHIA: Finally, located on Via Principe di Belmonte, it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The name of the shop refers to the large niche behind the counter, made of colorful tiles, LED lights, and many wine bottles. Valeria runs the shop, which includes some Sicilian wines that are hard to find elsewhere. The experience can be complemented with platters of local salami and cheeses, along with many unique and delicious jams.
