This beach is part of the Integral Nature Reserve called Cava Randello, a protected area within the territory of the Ragusa municipality. The shoreline is often covered with shells of all shapes and sizes and is protected by dunes and a characteristic network of reed fences. In recent years, the beach has even been defended by the Randello Libera Committee and Legambiente, who opposed the construction of a beach club, ensuring that it remains a free beach.
Where is Randello beach in Ragusa? How do you get there?
The easiest way to reach Randello beach is undoubtedly the entrance to the reserve on SP 85. Just before the entrance managed by the Forestry Corps, you will find two parking lots where you can leave your car, and from there, it is a one-kilometer walk to the beach within the reserve.
However, the beach can also be reached from Punta Braccetto, and you can reach Piazza dei Tramonti, from where you will see the wide shoreline of Randello beach. A crucial thing to know about this beach is that it is not equipped, so it is advisable to come prepared with an umbrella and refreshing drinks.
Where can you eat near Randello beach?
Since it is a relatively isolated place, the choices are not very extensive. Outside the reserve, heading towards Punta Braccetto, you will only find the Calaamari bar, where you can have an aperitif while watching the sea and the sunset. It is recommended to book a table in advance.
