In today’s article, we want to focus on shopping, specifically discussing the Forum Palermo shopping center, revealing which stores it hosts and its opening days and hours. Ready? Let’s go. Forum Palermo is an architectural complex primarily for commercial use, located in Palermo between the peripheral residential district of Roccella and the industrial zone of Brancaccio.
It is undoubtedly the largest shopping center in the entire province and also in all of western Sicily. It opened its doors to the public on November 25, 2009, at 11:00 AM due to technical problems, causing tension and multiple inconveniences to the crowd that had gathered at the entrances from the early hours of the morning.
In April 2021, an expansion of the Food Court by 1,400 square meters was inaugurated, allowing the opening of eight new restaurants. The project was developed by a well-known architectural firm and was executed in an external area designated for expansion during the initial construction phase. The existing Food Court was also completely revamped to follow new aesthetic standards. The expansion project includes the useful introduction of renewable energy policies covering 40% of the center’s energy needs.
The architecture of the interiors and exteriors of Forum Palermo has been meticulously designed, with the external profile intended to echo the morphology of Palermo’s historic center, following the layout of the Mediterranean Village. Additionally, the irregular shapes of the shops mimic the streets of the historic center, with fake windows above the store windows to emulate homes and upper floors. There are three different entrances: two at the extremities called Fashion Square and Water Square, and a third in the center leading directly to the food court.
