Specifically, the section of the highway from Palermo to Buonfornello is called the European route E90, while the section from Buonfornello to Catania is called the European route E932.
Catania-Palermo Highway: Where to Access It
The highway starts at the Villabate interchange and connects, via a motorway link, to Viale della Regione Siciliana. Continuing, the first section in the eastern part, which is the Tyrrhenian coast, has exits at Bagheria, Casteldaccia, Altavilla Milicia, Trabia, and Termini Imerese. To find the connection with the Messina-Palermo highway, you need to reach Buonfornello.
Further on, after passing the Scillato exit, the highway continues through the Madonie mountains with interchanges at Tremonzelli, Irosa, and Resuttano. From there, it heads towards Catania, crossing the Cannatello viaduct. There are many exits and interchanges; we continue along the Dittaino course, which flows directly into the Catania plain. The highway ends, seamlessly merging onto the Catania industrial bypass, right after the intersection with the ring road.
