For those with a few days to spare and a desire to discover a part of Sicily that is decidedly off the beaten path, the Agrigento area—known as the most beautiful city of Mortals and the home of important writers such as Pirandello and Camilleri—offers not only the famous Valley of the Temples, culture, and renowned Sicilian food but also the sea, long beaches, and unique cliffs.

Capo Rossello, located in the municipality of Realmonte, with a wonderful backdrop provided by the Scala dei Turchi, offers truly unique color contrasts, with white and red rocks overlooking a blue sea. From this promontory, you can enjoy a breathtaking view, with the white Scala dei Turchi plunging into the sea and the suggestive red cliffs.
Finally, we want to talk about the beach of San Leone, the beach resort of Agrigento. Its wide golden sandy beaches extend for several kilometers and are often sheltered from the wind by rocks. In the beach resort area, there are equipped lidos, kiosks, and bars, which are the hub of summer nightlife.
In the eastern area, which is much wilder and windier, there are sand dunes where you can do sports like surfing or kitesurfing, as well as enjoy pleasant moments savoring delicious local wines and admiring the sunset at one of the few kiosks present.
